El presidente brasileño, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, pidió este jueves 13 de junio a la Organización Internacional del Trabajo (OIT) que presione para impulsar un uso de la inteligencia artificial "que sirva para el sur global" y aseguró que esta tecnología llamada a cambiar el mundo "no puede ser sólo para unas pocas empresas que tienen todos nuestros datos sin pagar un centavo".
"La inteligencia artificial transformará radicalmente nuestra forma de vida, pero tenemos que actuar para que sus beneficios lleguen a todos y no solamente a algunos países, los mismos de siempre que se quedan con la mejor parte", aseguró Lula en un discurso durante la conferencia anual de la OIT.
El mandatario sudamericano también abogó por una mayor presencia de los países en desarrollo en organismos internacionales como la propia OIT, y en ese sentido subrayó que Brasil trabajará para que se eliminen en ella los asientos permanentes de las principales potencias en su consejo de administración, reseña 800noticias.com
El consejo de la OIT, su principal órgano ejecutivo, está formado por representantes de trabajadores, empleadores y de 28 gobiernos, pero 10 de estos últimos tienen carácter permanente y los ocupan a los miembros de mayor importancia industrial (Alemania, Brasil, China, EEUU, Francia, India, Italia, Japón, Reino Unido y Rusia).
Lula aseguró que la voz de los países en desarrollo es reducida en numerosos foros globales, y puso el ejemplo de que «en el Comité Olímpico Internacional (COI), algún país europeo tiene por sí solo más miembros que todo el continente africano».
