La actriz británica Maggie Smith, conocida por sus papeles de la profesora Minerva McGonagall en la saga de Harry Potter y de la condesa viuda de Grantham en la serie Downton Abbey, ha fallecido este viernes a los 89 años de edad, según ha informado su familia y recogen medios ingleses.
Sus hijos Toby Stephens y Chris Larkin han informado de su fallecimiento en un comunicado recogido por la cadena de televisión británica BBC "Con gran tristeza tenemos que anunciar la muerte de Dame Maggie Smith".
"Falleció en paz en el hospital a primera hora de la mañana del viernes 27 de septiembre. Persona muy reservada, al final estuvo con sus amigos y su familia. Deja dos hijos y cinco nietos, que están destrozados por la pérdida de su extraordinaria madre y abuela", continúa el texto, reseña el portal web Notitarde
